Picnic In The Park -> 4 Staples in the head!!

We had dinner at the park tonight! Everyone loves Mack Park because it is all shaded and has hills to climb behind the toys, so we pack some food and went off to the park with a couple neighbors. It started out well...

These pictures are awful and blurry:( I didn't get any of them on the actual playground but they LOVE to climb up the hills, wonder the path on top and slide down on their bums! They even talked Keith into going up with them so they could go higher then normal! I figure I had plenty of time for pictures and stopped taking them to chat with my friends. After a little while we heard crying and stopped for a sec to listen to the cry to determine whos kid it was and if it was an actual need help cry. I looked over to where the boys were just in time to see Noah step out from behind a tree with blood GUSHING from his head and dripping down his face!! YIKES!! Definitely an actual cry! We all ran over there to figure out what happened. I asked Keith to grab something to stop the bleeding and he decided the car was to far away and ripped off his shirt instead (What a good Daddy!! :) Easton by this time was terrified that something was wrong with Noah and started screaming his head off too!! I used the shirt to clear enough blood to decide it definitely needed stitches! While I was doing that, all the other kids were explaining that one little boy threw a rock aimed at his little brother and it hit Noah instead (Lucky for the brother:) Hehe!) Off we ran to the Instacare with 2 little shoeless boys covered in dirt and a balled up TShirt on Noahs head (which also meant a shirtless Daddy too) We looked like the parents of the year:)...
A brief moment of rest between sobs:(
I didn't get a pic of him on the little procedure bed but here is the end result...

A little love from a very concerned little brother!
Noah was very brave and was promised a reward if he did his best. We thought they would have to numb it with a needle and stitch it so we were expecting the worst but they numbed it with spray and stapled it instead! It was so fast and over before he knew it! As promised we headed to Game Stop for new Wii games.

This, however, presented another problem!! We didnt have enough time to get Keith a shirt?!?! So, being the trooper that he is (because Noah wanted him to come in with him really badly) he put the only thing in the car on to cover his G top. A SPONGEBOB SNUGGIE!!! Hahahaha :)
Through all of this Noahs biggest concern was that the little boy that threw the rock had meant to hurt him and was mad at him for some reason. When we told the Dr that they were throwing rocks and one hit his head, the Dr said the little boy that threw that one must feel awful. Noah started bawling as if it had just happened and said "No, he didn't even care!!" Which was totally not true but we could not convince him otherwise until...

We got home and his friends brought him balloons, ice cream and a hand drawn card that said Sorry:) All was right in his world again and now he thinks he is pretty cool stuff with staples in his head. He can't wait to go show them to all his friends tomorrow:)

Summer Park Thursdays

All of our neighbors and  local friends make a "Park Calender" every summer. We pick a day a week and rotate parks throughout town and meet there for lunch and chat while the kids play. Mixed in with the park are trips to ice cream, a day on the bus, water play, etc. I obviously didn't take pics of every park day but it has a significant part of our summer. We missed the original bus day so we are took the bus to the Willow Park Zoo, stopped at the park and had snow cones today:)

THE BUS
Easton (MUCH to my surprise!!) started out afraid of the bus and didn't want to get on:(

He warmed up a little but still wouldn't let go!!

And, eventually, was totally on board and excited and spent the rest of the ride counting tractors out the windows:)
Noah loved every minute of it and couldn't calm down long enough for a normal picture:)

 THE PARK

Easton and Jett climbing up the slide...
Easton jumping out as fast as he can because Jett is coming behind him growling like a bear! They were over last night playing "Going on a Bear Hunt" and Easton thinks it is the greatest thing in the world when he is included with the bigger boys:)
Noah humoring me with a wave!
Brynn pushing Easton and Eli on the swings:)

 THE ZOO
Easton LOVED the monkeys:)

A portion of our group! There were a few more that weren't in the same place at the moment:)

Feeding the ducks...always everyone's favorite part!!

SNOW CONES
while we wait for the bus home:)

It was a LONG HOT day!! but it was a lot of fun for everyone...well at least for me and my little monkeys!!

Jr Chef

Noah was so excited about Jr. Chef. It is a summer program offered at the local Rec Center. Its an hour and a half on Tues-Thurs. They get to cook something and then eat it for lunch and he loves to it!! The first day they made Strawberry Waffles and Orange Julius'. Day 2 it was Quesadillas and Cheese Chips. The last day was (his favorite!!) Sandwich on A Stick and Veggie Kabobs with Dip!
