Carribean Cruise Part 2

Our first stop...Great Stirrup Cay!! A small Island privately owned by Norwegian Cruise Lines...

Pulling up to the island...

The little hopper boat that took us the rest of the way...the water gets to shallow for the ship.

The other side of the Island

Posing and beach ready!

Palm trees, sand, and ocean...what more could you need!? Well, I guess of your hungry you could step over to the buffet that the cruise provided  on the island for all the free food you need:)

Took this one for my Mom...just wanted to let her know my feet were in the sand and my hand was on a palm tree and hers wasn't! Haha:)

Jamaica

Half of our group went zip lining while the other half found a tour guide that agreed to take us around and then come back for the rest of the group when zip lines were over. We found Woodys Tours! He was hilarious and we got a really nice tour of the "real" Jamaica and less of the touristy resort stuff. thats exactly what we asked for and we had a blast:)
VIEWS

The type of houses the "real" Jamaicans live in

Dont remember what these were? Anyone?

I've got a lovely bunch of coconuts...dedalede:)

Ha! Look there is a Barnett Jamaica!!

Our ship and the touristy section of the island off to the right

Those of us that did not sip line...Me, Keith, Stan, Cami, and Josh
A few highlights of the "Woody" tour...
This fruit is poisonous if you pick it and break it open...

But if you wait for it to fall and open on its own...it's super healthy (tastes kinda like avacodo)

Poisonous on top and good for you on the bottom

They think if you put these leaves under your hat against your head it seeps through and has some other healing power..there were to many too remember??
Spikey fruit that heals yet another ailment...

Woody and the spikey fruit:)

I swear there are no traffic laws!! They just weave all over and honk and wave at each other. It was a little scary!
Woodys brothers store...he offered to stop and let us get sodas cuz we all thought we were dying without it on the ship! Except Stan...he paid the extra $50 bucks to get soda!! CRAZY
The Crazy Tree
This tree has been here for generations and a bunch of different people have left their mark. there are carvings, things dug in and mounted in it, roots making tunnels in every direction. Woody said it was one of those things every generation of family talked about "playing on the big tree"

Fisherman go out to catch fish and bring them back to sell through this little channel. It was pretty neat to see. It seems so old fashioned but it is still how many of them make their livings!

The old bridge fell so they built a new one!

Homemade fishing net of some sort?

The Water Fall!
We didnt want to pay for Dunns River Falls so we asked Woody if there was something similar for free and he was such a cool tour guide that he actually took us here!

The crazy tour guy (that was smoking a joint while touring) made Josh get all the way in the water fall!! It was pretty funny to watch...I think he is sooo tall the Jamaicans were fascinated:)

Same tour guy would believe us when we tried to explain the Cami was not Joshs wife?? awkward:)

Same dude posed us for kissing pics with Josh in the background! Haha...its all part of the experience!

Just climbing a waterfall in Jamaica...no big deal:)

Such a gentleman:)

Bob Marleys face in the rock...my hand is on  his nose!

Made it to the top:)
After the waterfall we met up with the rest of the group and asked Woody to take us to the best local joint. He took us to Mamas (where his wife is the cook...haha)

We tried weird rice, jerk chicken, fried plantains, and pineapple soda:) Yummy!

After lunch we all went souvenir shopping!! Stopped at a couple flea markets and then the real market where you cant barter prices:( Somewhere in this day we stopped at a beach that you had to pay admittance too but didnt get pics there. Some guy kept asking Keith to buy drugs. He finally got away from him by swimming out to sea! haha:) Apparently, they can sell drugs in Jamaica but cant buy them. So they will sell them to you and then turn you in and get the reward money!! CRAZY!

The things you see at a Jamaican flea market!!

Thank you Woody for your CRAZY life story and perfect tour! :) May I just say that I don't always look so haggard! We swam and climbed a waterfall and sweat in the humid air...so cut me some slack:)
